Having pursued a degree in economics at Loughborough University, Sim's path took an unexpected turn when he embarked on a career as a professional poker player throughout his twenties. However, his upbringing, surrounded by the success and untapped potential of his father's business always fuelled his desire to become fully immersed in it.

Driven by a passion for product sourcing and brand building, Sim has found his calling as a key member of our board of directors. In his role as the Director of Business Growth, he utilises his expertise and strategic vision to drive our company's expansion and maximise its potential.

Sim's diverse background, combined with his innate entrepreneurial spirit, allows him to approach business growth from a unique perspective. His keen eye for identifying lucrative opportunities and his ability to build strong brands have proven invaluable in propelling our company forward.

Meet Jack Bearman, an esteemed member of our Board of Directors, overseeing our FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) and Operations departments. Jack's journey with our company began in 2018 when he joined us as the Head of Finance. Since then, he has made significant contributions to our organisation and was promoted to the role of Director in early 2021. Working alongside Sim, he plays a pivotal role in charting the strategic direction of our company.

With a background as a Chartered Accountant, Jack brings a wealth of financial expertise to his role. Prior to joining our team, he gained valuable experience at renowned firms like BDO LLP and KPMG. During his tenure, he worked with a diverse range of clients in sectors such as Real Estate, Investment Management, and Technology, solidifying his understanding of various industries and their financial intricacies.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jack nurtures a keen interest in health and fitness, which stems from his upbringing in a sporting environment. Outside of work, he actively pursues activities that promote a healthy lifestyle, further enhancing his holistic approach to life and work.

As a member of our Board of Directors, Jack plays a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of our company. His expertise in financial planning and analysis, coupled with his operational insights, ensures that our organisation remains on a path of sustainable growth and success. Jack's commitment to excellence and his ability to navigate complex financial landscapes enable us to make informed decisions that optimise our operations and drive our company forward.

Peter founded the company in 1977 after leaving the accountancy profession. From shipping one product out of his parents' house, his business has thrived through more than four decades, multiple recessions, and numerous pivots. Peter has now retired but remains actively consulting and generating new product ideas.

Introducing Adam, our Head of Sales & Marketing at Ideal Direct. Adam joined our team in February 2022, bringing a fresh perspective and a wealth of diverse experiences to our company.

Prior to his role at Ideal Direct, Adam had a background in education, serving as a maths and PE teacher. He later worked in the educational technology sector and this ignited his passion for data analytics and marketing. Adam's innate curiosity drives him to dive deep into the intricacies of our business analytics, uncovering valuable insights that shape our strategies and drive growth.

Furthermore, Adam's teaching experience has honed his ability to adapt his communication style to different individuals and learning styles. This skill translates seamlessly into managing our diverse remote team, where effective communication and understanding are key to fostering a cohesive and productive work environment.

Meet Chris, our Head of Supply Chain at Ideal Direct. With an impressive background and a passion for logistics, Chris joined our company in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. His expertise lies in identifying potential revenue leaks and optimising profitability, making him an invaluable asset to our team.

Chris's interest in logistics runs deep, influenced by his father's extensive career in various freight forwarding companies spanning over four decades. Prior to joining Ideal Direct, Chris co-owned one of the most successful supply shops on Etsy in the UK. His entrepreneurial spirit and experience in the industry have honed his skills in supply chain management.

Beyond his professional achievements, Chris is also engaged to his partner, and they are proud parents to their one-year-old daughter. As a dedicated family man, Chris understands the importance of building a thriving and supportive work environment that benefits both employees and the business as a whole.

Meet Gavin, our Head of Product and Creative Content Projects at Ideal Direct. With an impressive career spanning over 26 years in a leading multinational pharmaceutical company, Gavin sought a new challenge, which led him to join our team.

Gavin's tenure with Ideal Direct exceeds a decade, during which he has witnessed the remarkable growth of our company. From its humble beginnings in a small premises with only six employees, Gavin has played an integral role in shaping the company into what it is today.

In the early days, Gavin's dedication and versatility saw him involved in various aspects of the business. However, as the company evolved, his role has become more focused, leading him to spearhead our product and creative content projects.
